Completely in love with Menorca, Ona Carbonell is an inspiring synchronized swimmer, an avid collector of medals, a three times Olympic winner, who discovered her great passion in her early childhood, first in Cala Alcaufar and later in Es Murtar, a small urbanisation located near Sa Mesquida. Her exhibitions in August during the patron saint festivities of the little cove, have always been part of the programme and as a result, Ona has grown up as one of the locals, surrounded by Menorcan friends and neighbours which she really appreciates.
Menorca, without a doubt, provides a chance for her to switch off, an oasis of peace and a relaxing respite between competitions, something that her trainers know very well. With the help of Bonnin Sanso, this year we have been able to help her achieve one of her dreams, the dream of having her own refuge on the island. She says that if she ever decides to escape from the real world, she would escape to Menorca.
