Menorca is an island full of contrast with a very unique personality. Given to the island’s historical culinary tradition and deep rural roots, Menorca has a very rich gastronomy and a vast variety of quality local products. This allows the island to offer local cuisine with its personal identity, without pretensions, based on the Mediterranean diet.
This is how what was before a dream, a future proposal for our island, is today a reality. Menorca is another European region of Gastronomy, together with Coimbra Region, Slovenia, Kuopio, Sibiu, South Aegean, Galway-West of Ireland, North Brabant, Aarhus-Central Denmark, Catalonia and Minho.
Last Saturday 15th January, the mandate was released as “European Region of Gastronomy 2022”. And it was only the first of more than 50 events and activities that constitute the program that will be held throughout this year 2022.
This has only just begun….. This year, the gastronomy will be Menorca’s main protagonist of Menorca.
