El gust de Menorca’ is a temporary exhibition that opened last month at the Museu de Menorca. It is a tribute to the gastronomic culture in Minorca from a historical and anthropological point of view, where the objects are the protagonists that explain the little stories of Menorcan cuisine.
All this gastronomic legacy has been preserved in recipes, cooking techniques and pottery earthenware that reflect its simplicity and originality and at the same time the sophistication of Menorcan food.
The dishes represent the knowledge transmitted through generations of traditions and customs that have remained written down in recipe books and cookery notebooks, the written gastronomy history.
During the tour you will find traditional and ancestral recipes, Made in Menorca products, handwritten manuscripts, works of art and utensils.
The exhibition ‘El gust de Menorca’ will remain open until 8 April 2023.
Furthermore, on specific days they offer activities that include a guided tour, a gastronomic demonstration, recipe tasting, with water, beer or wine, a sweet Menorcan pastry, and written recipes.
